Yes, I am registered. No, I am not inactive. Yes, my name was on the list posted outside my polling place yesterday. Yes, I checked. But when I went to vote this morning, my name was not on the list. They had to check some kind of backup list to find me. The poll workers said that there had been some kind of systematic error affecting a lot of workers in this way, and mentioned something a lost CD.
More info at my journal here. Short version: looks like incompetence rather than fraud; yes, I got to vote.
Did this happen to anybody else? Does anybody know what's going on? For obvious reasons, the CEC's phone is busy at the moment.
Edited to add:
Wickedlocal.com had more information.
Actual reporting, with an explanation for the "missing CD" thing, at Cambridge Politics.
The Herald has a story.

someone called one of the help hotline numbers though, and was informed that i was registered, so (thankfully) rather than making me use another provisional ballot, they wrote my name and address on the back of the list, and i got to vote as i normally would.

(The odd thing is that it DIDN'T happen to my wife, and we moved to the neighborhood at exactly the same time.)

Ditto in Somerville
My wife and I moved to Somerville Ward 7, Precinct 3 recently, and we had the same issue -- I was on the list, she wasn't. The funny thing is, I voted in the September primary, and I'm pretty sure I remember seeing her name on the list then.November 4 2008, 19:55:04 UTC 3 years ago
I had to cast a provisional ballot, and I'm crossing my fingers that it will be counted.
